It’s a beautiful day here in San Diego and decided to stop by Tuna Harbor. I’ve driven by the area on numerous occasions, but never have gotten out of the car to take it all in.

Tuna Harbor is on Harbor Drive, bordering Seaport Village and you really can’t miss the U.S.S. Midway. This is where you’d see a small harbor of fishing boats as well as a small restaurant called the Fish Market and of course, monuments and sculptures regarding our military. It’s pretty touching considering my dad served in the military too. It’s just something that you got to see…

It really makes me wonder why I haven’t done this sooner. It also makes me wonder how many other San Diegan’s pass by and never gave it a chance. Hopefully my photos will inspire those to go out and see what San Diego has to offer since photos rarely do it justice...

Now I just got to go and visit The Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum…

Notes: I got there a little after 2pm. When I got there, I notice that a lot of the cars from the meet have already have gone. It seemed as the crowd was starting to dwindle down too. It still had some good cars there, but I wish I was there sooner. Especially judging by viewing other photos from other attendees...great meet!

Shelter Island...one of my favorite places to visit in San Diego. It just brings back memories. This is a place where I've had great success in fishing, as well as some upsets. What can I say, it's also a great place to take a stroll and take pictures too.

LOCATION: Boardwalk along the Star of India on Harbor Drive.

I call this gallery Harbor Drive... I didn't want to call it the Star of India or the Maritime Museum becuase I wasn't actually on them. But I was basically along side Harbor Drive on the nice boardwalk along the San Diego Bay.

I couldn't help it, I had to get out of the car as I drove by these amazing vessels. As a kid, who didn't want to be a Pirate? I know I did. And seeing a pirate ship there put a smile on my face.

Sometime in the near future, I'm going to have to check this place out when I have some free time. That submarine they have there seems pretty cool too.

2011 Random Cell Phone Camera Photos Archive

This section is the home of my random cell phone photo shots. Basically a place where I can just dump my pictures taken with my phone. It's also an archive of photos taken in 2011. It’s the ultimate in total photo randomness as well as uselessness. What I plan on doing is to take photos of random things for no apparent reason other than to share with my viewers what caught my eye at that moment. And the fact that I have the internet package to go along with my phone and plan to use the heck out it so that my money isn’t a total waste.

You'll find photos that range from food, San Diego Chargers stuff, food, candy, food, electronics, tactical gear, and did I mention food? Well, a majority of the images being shown are food and frankly, that's my favorite subject to shoot. Because after you're done taking the photo, you get to eat it.

Oh, and since all my photos here will be taken with a cell phone, I'm using a BlackBerry Bold 9700 to take them. You can also find the latest uploads at my Flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/visualnewbie/. Some of the older images on my Flickr page won't stay there forever. But no worries, all pics end up here eventually as it's their resting place called the archive. Just thought I'd add that little bit of info for those who may be curious.

So, welcome to my world. I sure hope you can stay a bit longer…

Miscellaneous Food Photos!

For some reason, I love taking photos of food. I really don't know why that is. Of all things that I take photos of, food is what I get the most satisfaction.

Maybe because is doesn't talk back and that is doesn't mind that I pick at it to make sure that I capture it just right. Maybe I look at it as art and the Chef as the artist. After all, I'm a visual type of person and I love all things that appeal in my eyes.

Or is it because I'm always hungry... yup, I think that's it! I guess that saying is true... "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach." Now I got to find that special someone to feed me...
